Running Tips in Sabah, Kota Kinabalu
There are many beautiful parks around Kota Kinabalu which provide jogging track.
Some parks has good natural shades along the park, so you can run even after the sunrise.
Almost all the parks around Kota Kinabalu is located by the lake and seaside which make your run more enjoyable and fun.
Best time for running in Kota Kinabalu.
The best time for running in Kota Kinabalu is early morning and late afternoon, where the temperature is a bit cool especially in the morning. In Kota Kinabalu the sunrise is around 6am-6.30am and sunset is around 6pm-6.30pm.
Light jogging wear are fine while running around the park.
Weekend
Weekend can be quite crowded on the track, some visitors may block the track while walking with their friends or families.
Be extra careful during the run especially with elderly and kids around the track.
Car park
If you were driving to the park, do not leave any valuable inside to avoid car break in.

Run with Friends
I use to run alone so i can concentrate on my running, but i found that i enjoy more running with friend where we could talk many thing and of course for your safety too. Do run in pairs or more.
Running Wear
Malaysia is a moderate muslim country with multiracial community. You can use light jogging shorts and t.shirts while jogging, is not a big issue!
Running shoes should be comfortable. Use shirt, shorts, hats and sock made of material like nylon, wool, lycra or coolmax as these material are not only provide comfort but pull sweat and keep moisture away from body.
Warm up properly
Warming up yourself just by doing some dynamic stretching such as; butt kick, walking with high knees, swing one leg from side to side to loosen up your muscles before the run.. Cool down yourself with some stretch after the run.
Water is my best friend
Drink water before, during and after the run. Sipping little mouthfuls when running will keep yourself dehydrate.

Sunglasses
Sunglasses is good not only to protect my eyes from sun but i do get some insect run into my eyes during the run.

Waist pouch
I always run with my waist pouch where i keep my water bottle, car key, ic and some cash. you do not want to drop anything on the track or trail, so keep in safe while running.
Tissu Parer
Some runners may want to use toilet to ease before, during or after, include these item to your waist bag.
